South Ring

A driving tour of South County Longford brings you from Longford town to Tarmonbarry and Clondra, on to Killashee and then Lanesborough. From Lanesborough, taking the Rathcline road brings the driver along the River Shannon to Barley Harbour and from here to view Lough Ree and it's Islands, in particular Saints Island. Newtowncashel is next on the itinerary, then Ballymahon and on to picturesque Abbeyshrule from where the driver turns back toward Longford town, taking in kenagh, Moydow and the Heritage village of Ardagh on the way.
