The Aisling Children's Arts Festival is a county based celebration of children's art and provides an invaluable opportunity for the children of Longford to experience, experiment and become exposed to the varied and diverse forms of the arts. The ethos of the festival is to nurture and develop an artistic appreciation among young people by introducing them to a wide range of art disciplines such as drama, music, dance and the visual arts through the medium of workshops and performances. This is achieved through participatory public workshops, schools programme, children's and family theatre and special projects such as the primary school's theatre programme, photography workshops and exhibition and the secondary schools film project. This year's festival begins with a free family day in St. Michael's School providing workshops, performing artists and much, much more.
Dates: This years festival runs from Sunday 21st October until Saturday 26th October 2012.
Venue: St Michaels School and various other venues around Longford town.
