The Ballinalee Connemara pony Show is an annual event held on the second Sunday in June at Aughnashannagh, Ballinalee, County Longford. The second largest of it's type in the country the show completely transforms this rural and historical village of Ballinalee and provides a thoroughly enjoyable day out for all the family. All the ponies featured are registered Connemara Ponies, known for their athleticism and great dispositions. They are gentle creatures and particularly good with children.
Visitors to the show get the chance to see them take part in in-hand and performance classes and if you’re lucky enough to own one of these beautiful animals there are plenty of opportunities to meet other owners and breeders to swop notes and tips. There’s also an excellent dog show on the day and a fun parade for the entertainment of the children or just to keep everyone in high spirits.
