
The St Patricks Day Parade & Festival is held annually in Longford Town. Lanesborourgh, Granard and Ballymahon also hold St Patrick's Day Parades on a smaller scale although they are non the less enjoyable, colourful and exciting days out for all the family. All of the Longford celebrations are always a great success and enjoyable events for local people as well as visitors to the county. The Longford parade draws exciting floats from local businesses and organisations, marching bands, street entertainers, vintage displays and much more, bringing energy and excitement to the town for the duration of the festival. This years event incorporates an Intercultural Mass and a Padraic Colum themed lunch in Viewmount House on Sunday 18th which is also Mothers Day. Date: This years event takes place from 16th to 18th March 2012 and begins at 12.30pm from the Battery road Longford.
