The County Longford Fleadh Cheoil is an annual festival celebration of Irish musical talents and culture which attracts people from around the country and abroad. It provides an opportunity to learn or play some tunes as well as a chance to meet new and old friends. It is also a place to marvel at the skill of a favourite trad artist and join in the ceoil agus craic of rural Ireland. What you experience at a festival of Irish traditional music will depend to a great degree on what you go to find. But whatever your expectation, there’s one thing that you will be sure of finding in Co Longford, it is a warm welcome from those with a love of Irish traditional music, dance, song and language, and an invitation to stay longer.
There will be a Gig Rig in Ballinalee Village from 4pm till late as well as live music sessions in the local pubs throughout the weekend.
